18TH CENTURY OAK 8 DAY LONGCASE CLOCK the face marked Joshua Alloway?, Taunton, the case overall later carved with broken swan neck pediment above moulded cornice, square aperture flanked by fluted columns, arch waisted door, panel base on bracket feet. Brass face with pierced foliate spandrels, Roman chapter ring, seconds dial and date aperture, 8 day two train movement striking on one bell. The face 7.5 x 12" dial approx.

Overall appearing to be in good condition, includes two lead weights and brass bob pendulum. The case later copiously carved but appearing in good condition. The name on the face is difficult to be sure but appears to be either Alloway or Allorvay. Joshua Alloway recorded London circa 1726.
